The one-up rivalry that moms play making their child seem better, smarter, and/ or more advanced than yours. May involve two or more moms and any number of children, even full-grown. "Mompetition" originally mentioned in the book Momfidence: An oreo never killed anybody and other secrets of happier parenting by Paula Spencer 2006. She engaged me in mompetition insisting her son walked at 6 months and implying my son was slow for his age. -Urban Dictionary | ||
The creation of this blog is for entertainment purposes (and perhaps CHANGE THE WORLD). Please stumble around with a grain of salt and sense of merriment. If you are offended by certain material in this blog, feel free to leave a comment, however, please also be prepared for a massive attack of "lighten up buzzkill".
Raising children is selfless hard work. It is important for us to not take ourselves so seriously that we zap all the joy and humor of what we go through on a day to day basis. I try to not purposely attack people but take serious situations/differing schools of thought, and make them funny. Many people have asked and most likely you will not know what side of the fence I'm on for most issues. I'm not immune to certain uber-mom tendencies (my kids were Babywise babies, they have a 7:30pm bedtime, we eat organic and shy away from unprocessed foods...Jamie Oliver, droooooool). However, I am human and can see most sides of any debate; but I'll take the side that is the funniest. Enjoy and I hope something here makes you smile.
About this blogger
As I mentioned this blog is for your and my entertainment. I do not profit from it, I do not wish to seek sponsorship and some giveaways come straight out of my pocket. That is how much I love each of you. If you are interested in allowing me to give something away, please email me at mompetition@gmail.com. However, I will say upfront I am not interested in promoting items I do not love or have not tried out first.
