The creation of this blog is for entertainment purposes (and perhaps CHANGE THE WORLD).  Please stumble around with a grain of salt and sense of merriment.  If you are offended by certain material in this blog, feel free to leave a comment, however, please also be prepared for a massive attack of "lighten up buzzkill".

Raising children is selfless hard work.  It is important for us to not take ourselves so seriously that we zap all the joy and humor of what we go through on a day to day basis.  I try to not purposely attack people but take serious situations/differing schools of thought, and make them funny.  Many people have asked and most likely you will not know what side of the fence I'm on for most issues.  I'm not immune to certain uber-mom tendencies (my kids were Babywise babies, they have a 7:30pm bedtime, we eat organic and shy away from unprocessed foods...Jamie Oliver, droooooool).  However, I am human and can see most sides of any debate; but I'll take the side that is the funniest.  Enjoy and I hope something here makes you smile.

About this blogger

My name is Valerie Stone Hawthorne (Hi).  I am a stay at home mom of boy/girl twins.  I have a doctorate in cancer biology and cell biology and a bachelors in genetics.  I battled the infertility monster for years (non-obese PCOS), and wound up doubly blessed.  After carrying my twins to term, I returned to work 12 weeks after my children were born.  After 6 weeks decided I couldn't do it anymore.  I decided to put my career on hold for a bit and stay at home with the little people.  Raising my children is so much fun, however I frequently get bored (obviously) and use this blog to let my mind explode.  I've been blogging since 2001 and have 3 deceased blogs and 2 active ones.  The situations that my movies demonstrate are exaggerated versions of my non-stop imagination coupled with real life experiences.  To generate the videos on this blog I utilize xtranormal's and iMovie's technology, however someday hope to render through my own platform.

As I mentioned this blog is for your and my entertainment.  I do not profit from it, I do not wish to seek sponsorship and some giveaways come straight out of my pocket.  That is how much I love each of you.  If you are interested in allowing me to give something away, please email me at mompetition@gmail.com.  However, I will say upfront I am not interested in promoting items I do not love or have not tried out first.
